Three months after my father transitioned out of the physical world, I came across his music library - an extensive collection that filled his life and accompanied us through our growing-up years. His love of music was extraordinary and I decided to listen to a complete album, in alphabetical order, each day and to paint one painting of my current surroundings - in black and white - including the name of the album and some reflections of the day on reverse. This process was my way of being present with le deuil, mourning. The first couple months were completely in black and white, but as the months went on, I noticed color wanting to come back in. After a few weeks of push-and-pull, I let it.
